
1960 - 2001 Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj ibni al-Marhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah Alhaj, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Selangor Darul Ehsan.
The Facts :
- born at Istana Bandar Temasha, Kuala Langat, 8th March 1926, eldest son of H.R.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah al-Haj ibni al-Marhum Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Shah by his first wife, H.R.H. Raja Hajah Jema'ah binti Raja Ahmad, Tengku Ampuan.
- seventh Sultan of Selangor.
- the eleventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong or King of Malaysia from April 26, 1999, he died in office on November 26, 2001. Crowned at the Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur, 26th April 1999.
- The oldest ever to be elected Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
- Wives :
i) married (first) at 1943 (div.) H.H. Raja Nur Saidatul Ihsan binti Tengku Bendahara Badar Shah.
ii) married (second) 1954 (div.) Che' Mahiran binti Muhammad Rais.
iii) married (third) at Selangor Palace, Kuala Lampur, 11th March 1956, H.R.H. Tengku Hajah Rahima binti al-Marhum Sultan Abdul Aziz Abdul Jalil Rahmat Shah of the Langkat royal family in Sumatra. Ccrowned as Tengku Ampuan at Alam Shah Palace, Klang, 28th June 1961 and died before his election as Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 27 JUN 1992.
iv) married (fourth) 16th November 1961 (div. 5th February 1962), Sharifa Salmah binti Syed Ahmad al-Kaf.
v) married (fifth) 3rd May 1990, H.R.H. Tuanku Siti Aisha binti Datuk Sri Abdul Rahman, Tengku Permaisuri and became Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia, 26th April 1999. She was the youngest ever Raja Permaisuri Agong - only twenty-eight at her elevation to the throne.
