Today is so kecoh in Metro newspaper about a Chinese guy from Muar who studies in Taiwan, singing his own version of Negaraku, - ‘Negarakuku’. I just listened to it.
I don’t think it is all about jokes anymore. He had gone too far. The only thing that makes me laughed was the ending when he stated ‘please don’t sue me, saya takde duit’.
I still remember during my last visit to tok mum’s house last month, which is also in Muar, she did tell me about her Chinese neighbour.
‘Everything had changed. During their apa, ama times, we were very close likes family. We shared laughs and tears together. But after their parents died, the children show no more respect to me even though we are still neighbour. Now the fence seems the Great Wall of China that separates the Malays and Chinese.’
What goes wrong, I wonder. Why dulu-dulu, the bonding between the Malays and non-Malays were strong. We were fighting the Japanese and British together for the Independence. The Malays were willing to change Tanah Melayu and then Malaya to Malaysia to prove that we are sharing this country. The Chinese or non-Malays cannot ask for more than what the Malays had given. Sharing is seems the best for all Malaysian.
As a teenager, I also have things that make me wanna curse the government. But, hey…no governments in this world can make all his people satisfied in everything. If you have problem with the our government policies, just curse the government. Don’t you dare to curse other races especially Malays. This country is rule by Barisan Nasional which consists of UMNO, MCA, MIC and others. So, NameWee, if you curse and blame your government, that means you are cursing your own people- Chinese/bangsa Cina. Better blame your damn wakil Cina la who are not voicing out for your people rights in this country.
We are celebrating the 50th Merdeka day this year. There should be no more cursing among races and religions in Malaysia. We are now Malaysian. The Malays cannot deny the contributions done by the Chinese or others, so with the Chinese or others cannot ask for more since the Malays has more rights to this land.
