Merdeka!Merdeka!Merdeka!
I told a friend that I have no mood for Merdeka celebrations this year. Well, problem is everywhere and it will not stop haunting us. Life is short. So enjoy your life while you still have chance.
It’s hard not to feel the celebrations. Furthermore, it is the 50th Anniversary of our Independence. I can smell grand celebrations in the air.
Last weekend, all my little cousins were put under my supervision and cikyah since all the adults went to visit a family member who is ill. I can’t stop myself from feeling the celebration after I saw my little cousins tried to do actions from a commercial they saw on tv. Building up a Tugu Negara. So I join them as one of the patriots who died for the country. I was placed at the bottom becuz I’m the biggest among them, so they can stood up on me and held the Jalur Gemilang flag. Great! I never thought doing so when I was a kid but I did it now at age 26.
Then we all without the guidance of adults, rising up the highest flag in my kampung. It was such a great honour to do so even though one of my little cousins fell off the ladder. We did it.
Merdeka means freedom/independence. We are free in our country. Free of doing anything, free to be anybody.
Merdeka for me is to free my mind, and choose the happiness.
